Biography
Dr. Jaclyn Vargas is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego. She is an Academic Hospitalist and the Nocturnist Supervisor at the La Jolla Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. She also practices Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Rady Children’s Hospital. She completed her medical degree at Keck School of Medicine of USC and her Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at LAC+USC Medical Center, where she stayed on as a Pediatric Chief resident. She is passionate about hospital medicine, eating disorders, medical education, and creating a safe learning and working environment for medical students and residents. She enjoys teaching and creating curriculum locally at UCSD and nationally at academic conferences. She has been recognized for her teaching with awards including the Medicine Clerkship Teaching Award and the Inaugural Humanism in Medicine Award.
